According to the weather bureau, Sunday's heat index could hit the "danger level" in at least 16 locations.

As per the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA), the maximum temperature experienced by humans, or the heat index, is estimated to be Aparri, in Cagayan, has 48°C; Dagupan City, in Pangasinan, has 47°C; and Virac, in Catanduanes, has 45°C.

The following regions are likely to experience heat indices between 42°C and 44°C:

  • 44°C in Laoag City, Ilocos Norte
  • 47°C in Dagupan City, Pangasinan
  • 42°C in Batac, Ilocos Norte
  • 44°C in Bacnotan, La Union
  • 48°C in Aparri, Cagayan
  • 43°C in Tuguegarao City, Cagayan
  • 42°C in Isabela, Echague
  • 42°C in Aurora, Casiguran
  • 42°C in Puerto Princesa City, Palawan
  • 42°C in Cuyo, Palawan
  • 45°C in Virac, Catanduanes
  • 43°C in Masbate City, Masbate
  • 42°C in Roxas City, Capiz
  • 42°C in Dumangas, Iloilo
  • 42°C in Zamboanga City, Zamboanga del Sur
  • 42°C in Cotabato City, Maguindanao

PAGASA, meanwhile, stated that Sunday's weather will be largely pleasant across the nation.

The weather bureau predicted that due to easterlies and isolated thunderstorms, Metro Manila and the rest of the archipelago would have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers. This information was included in its 24-hour weather forecast.

It warned that strong thunderstorms could cause landslides or flash floods. All throughout the nation, PAGASA predicted, there will be light to moderate winds and mild to moderate seas.
